National Dairy Congress

The TRANSFORMA-INNOVA program was present this Wednesday at the National Dairy Congress. The director of the program, Alberto Vega, told the public present about the support that will be given to the NAMA livestock through the program in the coming 4 years.

Implementing the livestock NAMA on an additional 1,500 hectares, promoting low-carbon and climate-resilient practices and developing new markets with low-emission products will be some of the TRANSFORMA-INNOVA goals.

The Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE), one of the implementing partners, will oversee the technical support to be provided to NAMA livestock. Cristóbal Villanueva of CATIE's Livestock and Environment Unit spoke about the main lines of action that are already being worked on with the country's livestock sector.

This multi-donor program is co-funded by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV), the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) through its IKI International Climate Initiative and the European Union.
